Leisure World of Maryland tm  is a Senior Community for active adults. The community was conceived by Ross W. Cortese in 1966. It is located in Montgomery County, Maryland, which is perfect for seniors that want to continue their career considering the fact that the community is located between Washington, D.C, and Baltimore. There are approximately 8,500 people living in the community subdivided into townhouses, apartments and single family houses located on a 610 acres parcel.

Leisure World Maryland tm is made for active seniors who enjoy a large choice of activities and social events. There are currently over 60 groups and organizations, and the community offers activities for varied interest such as card rooms, billiard rooms, ceramics studio, art studio, computer center, 18 hole golf course, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis court, and lawn bowling. The residents also have access to two clubhouses and an auditorium that offers movies, plays, musicals, concerts, lectures, and club meetings. Banking and postal services are available within the community.

Even though the residents do not get their meal prepared as it is an independent living community they can go to one of the 3 restaurants that are served by the community. These restaurants serve fine dining to casual choices.

Leisure World Maryland also offers the residents a medical center and a full service pharmacy where physicians, dentists and specialists are available. Emergency home visits are also provided for an additional charge.

Residents that dont drive have access to bus transportation that goes to different places in the community but also to surrounding areas.
