The Towers at Laguna Woods Village

 The Towers, at Laguna Woods Village-formerly called Leisure World, was developed by Ross Cortese for those who want elegance, luxury, care free life style and service. The Towers consist of two buildings, each 14 stories tall with a total of 311 apartments. Services include:  full menu dinner with salad bar served nightly in the two dining rooms, housekeeping cleaning and bed linen changing service, numerous activities and events provided by the Activities Department, a Reception Desk, Maintenance Department and use of the many Village amenities.

In a recent interview with Judie Zoerhof, Executive Director of The Towers in Laguna Woods Village (formerly Leisure World), she spoke about some interesting trends at the Towers. The average age of the residents has come down from 77 years to 67 years of age in the last few years. She said that several "baby boomers" had moved into the Towers and they raved about what a good deal it is. Having people in their early 60s moving into the Towers is quite unusual considering the previous make up of the community. In conversations with three "young" people, who had recently moved into the Towers "one stated that the only complaint he had was a difficult time getting his surf board onto the elevator!"  All three commented that coming home from work to a clean apartment and a hot dinner waiting for them was the life everyone dreams of. All three people repeatedly spoke of the value of living in the Towers.  Everything is included except telephone service.  To this Judie added, "I guess when you think of all the utilities, cable service, fine dining, housekeeping, heating and cooling available at one economical monthly charge; plus all the tennis, golf, pools, and buses available in the community, it does sound pretty good."
