Coto De Caza California
The name Coto de Caza is derived from the Portuguese language and means "Reserve of Hunt". An upscale master planned, ?census-designated place´ (CDP), is a gate guarded private community in Southern Orange County. Cota, as it is referred to by some of the locals, has a population of around 13,000 people on approximately 4000 acres of land. Over half of the area has been set aside for open spaces, an equestrian center, green belts, pedestrian trails, two community swimming pools, two club houses, two golf courses and nine tennis courts. It is the oldest and most expensive planned development in Orange County. Within the community one will find the Coto de Caza Guest Lodge and the General Store. Adjacent to and surrounding parts of Coto de Caza is the Thomas F> Riley Wilderness Park, an ecological preserve, consisting of nearly 500 acres. The park is the home breeding ground to mountain lions as well as the habit for many other animals, reptiles and birds.
